Radio / DAB
Digital Audio Broadcasts (D.A.B.) will rapidly replace the FM broadcasting system that we currently use for our radio stations. FM tuners in the home and car will be replaced with DAB tuners
(by 2015).
DAB gives listeners interference-free reception of high-quality sound and wider listening choice through many additional stations and services. There are no frequencies to tune in. Once you have a DAB tuner installed it automatically finds all the radio services available in your area and you just choose the station you require from a list.
There are many new radio stations available which are only receivable via DAB. New stations include BBC radio 6 and BBC radio 7. The radio station names bordering this page are just a taste of what is available.
Local and regional stations are not yet available on DAB in the Reading area but should be on-air soon.
To listen to DAB you need a DAB tuner and a DAB aerial. DAB tuners are available from all good audio/television stores. DAB aerials are in stock and we can carry out an installation to coincide with the purchase of your DAB tuner.
