Benefit of a Better Aerial
The transition from analogue to digital television signals means that any aerial that was not designed to receive
digital signals will need to be replaced. Non-digital aerials are typically a very basic design and easily identified
from the ground. The picture shown here is an example of the most recognisable non-digital aerial. In strong reception
areas it may be possible to receive some or even all of the available digital television channels with a non-digital
aerial but if you suffer with
freezing
or a complete loss of picture then the first port of call is to upgrade your television aerial.
There are many types of digital television aerial available and they fall into 4 categories.

Our engineers will always carry out a digital signal test from your roof so that they can choose the best type of aerial for your requirements. If you want to have a go at installing yourself then we sell all our stock over the counter and our shop staff will provide you with the most suitable aerial based on our previous experience in your area.
In addition to the aerial upgrade you may also need to think about replacing the cabling and outlet sockets. Technical experts insist that cable must be upgraded to a high quality double screened type for digital television to work properly. It is not quite as critical as they make you believe but if you are having a new aerial installed then it makes sense to upgrade the cabling at the same time.
The latest outlet sockets designed for digital reception are better quality and more robust than the previous models. In any room where we run a new digital cable we recommend that a digital outlet is installed as well.
